The expansion of our current barn to create an Equus Community Learning Barn will provide us year-round functional space to grow our existing volunteer/workforce development program. Through our volunteer program, youth and adults learn various skills and are placed with onsite or offsite employers. Our challenge is that are current barn is only 52 x 26 with predominantly outdoor training space. Our 3 areas of focus facilitate job placement opportunities in a wide range of professional tracks. These include, but are not limited to: Mental ; Physical Health ( Alzheimer s Disease, Grief and Parkinson s Groups Equus Therapy Coaches) Youth Development (Off-Site Gang Intervention, After School and Summer Camps Specialist) Workforce Development (Trade Job Training ; Placement and Apprenticeship) Since 2010, our programs have grown in demand and inclusiveness. With the capital improvements completed, we would also offer more access to workforce populations with limited access to our facility due to physical disabilities
